Swallowing the Moon
Located on the northern coast of Egypt, Alexandria is a city that stands apart from the rest of the country. The cool northern winds off of the Mediterranean Sea provide a more temperate clime until one ventures to the far southern end of the city. More so than any other city, Alexandria displays a nearly surreal blend of architecture and culture from every civilization that has marched through its streets. Ancient Greco-Roman villas but up against French colonial estates that are nestled in the shadows of temples to Egyptian gods.
Although the conflict between the military and supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood is a national crisis, there is far less evidence of its effects in the population of Alexandria.
If Cairo is a city belonging to the vampire, then it can easily be argued that Alexandria belongs to the mages. Chief among these is the Great and Knowing Order of the Messenger, a strong chantry of Hermetic mages. Their combined influence over the city does not in any way rival the autocratic rule of the Prince of Cairo but they are without challenge as they meddle and manipulate the pulse of the city.
